Coffee is the main source of antioxidants for many Americans in their daily diet, help reduce heart disease and inflammation, as Lene Frost Andersen, PhD, who works in the department of nutrition at the University of Oslo in Norway confirmed.

The results of the study were obtained from 27 312 postmenopausal women who had participated in the Iowa Health Study of Women. All women completed a survey of 127 questions about their regular habits, including coffee consumption, alcohol and snuff. None of the women changed their coffee consumption habits for the purpose of the study. Women’s groups in the study were recorded in 15 years, and during this period were 1733 of cancer, were in 1411 of heart disease and the rest of 1211 died of other causes. Women who consume 1-3 cups of coffee a day had a lower risk of dying from heart disease or inflammatory diseases such as cancer are not, as in the other investigated against women.

Women consume 1-3 cups of coffee a day had a lower likelihood of heart disease by 24% of deaths compared with women who drank no coffee. Women who drank 1-3 cups of coffee a day had a 28% lower risk of transmission of non-cancerous swelling, compared to dispense coffee altogether. Death from cancer was not associated with coffee consumption.

These results were not for the consumption of other beverages such as tea, soft drinks, juices, soft drinks and milk diet seen. The study has found that coffee consumption was completely responsible for a lower risk of heart disease, but the results were consistent, confirming that drinking 1-3 cups of coffee a day protection against inflammatory diseases and cardiovascular problems in the women after menopause offer.
